South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
SBH QLD 2021 Wheel & Walk - Kingaroy
The first ever SBH Qld Wheel & Walk will be held at the start of the South Burnett Rail Trail opposite the Liberty garage in Youngman Street, Kingaroy at 8:30am this morning (registrations open at 7:45am). Participants - who are encouraged to wear a beanie or a onesie to show their support for Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus research - can walk, run or use a wheelchair or motorised ride-on to cover a 5km course from Kingaroy to Meiers Road and back again. After this, there'll be a Rotary breakfast and a coffee van operating to round the morning off with a bang. Today's get-together is a family-friendly, fun community event to help a good cause so everyone is welcome. And if you want to save time you can also register online.
Stonehouse Open Day - Moore
The historic Stonehouse on the D'Aguilar Highway at Moore will be holding an Open Day from 8:30am to around 3:30pm today. The Open Day will allow visitors to inspect progress on the restoration of this historic Brisbane Valley property by new owners Loretta and John Eastwood, but because parking on the site is limited access will be by bus only. Buses will be running from the Soldiers Hall off the highway in Moore to the Stonehouse and return all day, and tickets are $10 (or $20 for a family). Everyone is welcome!
Sunday Bingo - Wondai
Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.
Winter Wonderland - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt Singers and the Momentum Pop Choir from Tingalpa will be jointly presenting a "Winter Wonderland" concert at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Bowman Road, Blackbutt at 1:30pm today (for a 2:00pm start). The concert will present a range of heart-warming choral favourites and tickets are just $14 for adults or $12 for concessions (U12s are free). Kilkivan Railway Markets
The monthly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets run on the last Sunday of every month and always feature an array of locally produced fruit, vegetables and merchandise. New stallholders are always welcome, too! More details? Bunya Mountains Markets
The monthly Bunya Mountains Markets will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally-produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafes like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Cafe will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas, and walking trail maps will be available from both cafes, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a walk through the adjoining National Park. Quilt Raffle Draw - Kingaroy
As part of its Winter Craft Festival, the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy will be drawing the winner of the beautiful Alana Watts quilt that has been on display at the gallery over the past two months at 2:00pm this afternoon (so if you want some $2 tickets in this raffle yourself, get there earlier to buy them). A gold coin donation afternoon tea will also be available, and everyone is welcome!
Sunday Poker - Kingaroy

Christmas In July Roast Buffet Lunch - Wondai
Dimities Cottage in Haly Street, Wondai (opposite the art gallery) will be hosting a Roast Buffet Xmas In July lunch from noon onwards today. For just $20 per head (BYO) you can tuck into an all-you-can-eat roast lunch and dessert plus tea and coffee. However, bookings are essential because Dimities' buffets are nearly always sold out. Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. The Hivesville Country Markets will be held at the Hivesville Sports Grounds from 6:00am to about noon today. The South Burnett branch of the Australian Stock Horse Association will be holding the second (and final) day of their weekend-long Futurity, Maturity & Open Challenge at the Kumbia Showgrounds off Bell Street in Kumbia today. The South Burnett Orchid Society will be holding their regular monthly meeting at CTC's rooms at the South Burnett Youth Park in Somerset Street, Kingaroy from 2:00pm to around 3:30pm this afternoon.
