Jonathan Thurston - Nanango and Yarraman
Rugby league legend Jonathan Thurston will be dropping into Nanango State High School in Nanango and Yarraman's P-9 school today to conclude a three-day visit to bring his JT Academy program to the region. You can read more about Jonathon's visit and his three-day schedule on our website
South Burnett Gem & Fossicking Club
The South Burnett Gem and Fossicking Club will be holding their regular Wednesday meeting at their club's Wondai workshop in the old Wondai Railway Station at Coronation Park in the town's CBD from 5:30pm to around 7:30pm tonight. The club embraces all aspects of lapidary (including gem hunting and cutting) and meets every Monday and Thursday in Kingaroy, with Wednesday workshops in Wondai for faceting and silverwork. Coffee With A Cop - Wondai
Wondai Neighbourhood Watch and Wondai police will be holding an informal "Coffee With A Cop" session at the Wondai RSL Diggers Club in Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 10:30am to around 11:30am this morning. The session is a great chance to meet local police in an informal setting, ask them any questions you like and share any concerns you may have.
Combined Clubs Fundraising Dinner - Tablelands
The Murgon Rotary Club and the Tableland Public Hall Committee will be holding a Combined Clubs Fundraising Dinner at Tableland Hall from 6:00pm (for a 7:00pm start) tonight. The dinner is a fundraiser for the hall and the $30 admission fee includes a three course dinner. There'll also be a Lucky Door prize, raffles and a licensed bar in operation. To help plan the catering, though, an RSVP to Val Hodson on 0438-556-129 by Friday, May 20th would be greatly appreciated.
DV Awareness March - Cherbourg
The Cherbourg Women’s Shelter will be holding a domestic violence awareness march at 9:00am this morning, starting outside Cherbourg State School in Fisher Street, Cherbourg to raise awareness about the issue. The march will be led by the QPS Pipes and Drums, from Brisbane, and everyone is welcome to take part!
SBRC General Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding its May General Meeting at the Warren Truss Chambers inside its Glendon Street offices in Kingaroy from 9:00am this morning. Interested people can view the meeting via a livestream on the Council's website.
Wednesday Bingo - Kumbia
RSL Bingo will be played at Kumbia Hall in Bell Street today, with a daytime session starting at 10:00am (for a 10:30am start) and an evening session running at 6:00pm (for a 6:30pm start). Today's bingo games will be offering Jackpot Prizes starting at $50, a Lucky Door prize, a meat raffle, food and drinks and they're being run with assistance from Kingaroy RSL. Everyone is welcome!
Yarraman Men's Shed
The Yarraman Men's Shed at the end of Mill Street, Yarraman will be holding one of its regular get-togethers today. The Men's Shed is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and new members are always welcome. More details? Send them an email

The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be holding their regular Wednesday morning meeting at the old Motor Pool building off Geoff Raph Drive at Kingaroy Airport from 9:00am to around noon today. The group meet every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday morning and new members and visitors are always welcome.

The Nanango Men's Shed at the corner of Mt Stanley Road and Heathermore Lane, Nanango will be open from 8:30am to around 12:30pm today for its regular Monday get-together. The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.

Dance classes will be held at Inverlaw Hall on Burrandowan Road at Inverlaw from 7:30pm tonight. Alcoholics Anonymous - Murgon
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to help solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership. AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution. AA meets in Murgon every Wednesday from 6:00pm to around 7:30pm at the Baptist Church at 94 MacAlister Street, and members who can't make it in person can join in the meeting online via Zoom. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
