South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Murgon Music Muster
The second (and main) invited artists day of the 2019 Murgon Music Muster will be held at the South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon from 7:30am this morning, when things will get underway with a Bush Poets Breakfast that will run to 9:00am. These morning activities will be followed with performances from John Abbott (9:30pm); Lillian Gray (10:05am); Amber Lawrence (10:40am); Homegrown (11:15am) and Steve Sparrow (11:50am) beforee a lunch break. After lunch, there'll be more performances from Brendan Smoother (1:30pm); Connie Shelton (2:05pm); Anne Kirkpatrick (2:40pm); Emily Kinsella (3:15pm); Jack Viljoen (3:50pm); Christ Pritchard (4:25pm) and the Doghouse Band (5:00pm) before a dinner break. In the evening, today's Muster will conclude with Tracy Coster (7:00pm), Chris Callaghan (7:35pm), Amber Lawrence (8:10pm) and Tania Kernaghan (8:45pm). Pink-Nic In The Park - Proston
Proston will be holding a special Pink-Nic In The Park at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston on the western side of the CBD from 4:00pm until late today as a fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation. This BYO picnic get-together will include Pink Stumps cricket, games, and a gold coin donation outdoor movie night screening of "Racing Stripes". There'll also be popcorn, drinks and a sausage sizzle available for purchase. You can make up your own picnic or pre-order one from the Jacaranda Tearooms on 0428-895-119, but the event is otherwise free. The Pink-Nic has been organised by the Proston Men's Shed, Proston Scouts and Lions and everyone is welcome! (PS: While you're in Proston, check out the amazing pink displays in Blake Street's shops)
Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Kingaroy Bowls Club Bingo
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Halloween With Mr Q - Yarraman
Popular South Burnett band Mr Q will be performing in the Bundy Bar at Yarraman's Royal Hotel on the D'Aguilar Highway, Yarraman from 7:00pm until late tonight at a special Halloween Party. Guests are encouraged to dress in their spookiest costumes to be in the running for some great prizes while Tony, Gavin and friends deliver their usual sizzling mix of good time party music. Mr Q brought the house down when they last appeared at the Royal in September and they're back by popular request. There's no admission charge and everyone is welcome! More details? South Burnett Tennis Tournament - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy & District Tennis Association will be hosting the annual South Burnett Tennis Tournament at their courts in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy from 3:00pm to 10:00pm this afternoon and evening. The South Burnett Western Performance Club will be holding a "Come & Try Show" at their grounds in Racecourse Road, Nanango from 3:00pm today. Pink Ribbon Morning Tea - Yarraman
A Pink Ribbon Morning Tea will be held at the Royal Hotel on the D'Aguilar Highway at Yarraman at 10:00am this morning to help raise funds for the McGrath Foundation's breast care nurses. For a gold coin donation guests can enjoy a great morning cuppa, and there'll also be raffles and a lucky door prize. Everyone is welcome!
Diwali Dinner - Kingaroy
The Spice Garden Restaurant at 171 Kingaroy Street in Kingaroy will be celebrating India's famous Festival Of Lights (ie Diwali) with a buffet dinner and live music from 6:00pm tonight. For $22.50 per head for adults or $10 per head for young people aged 10-14, guests can enjoy a selection of entrees, mains, rice, naans and desserts. Cold Chisel Tribute Show - Kingaroy
The Commercial Hotel at the corner of Glendon and Haly Streets, Kingaroy will be hosting Chisel Revived tonight - a Cold Chisel tribute show to honour of one of Australia's greatest bands. Doors will open at 6:00pm for dinner and the show will run from 7:30pm until late. Tickets are $55 for dinner and the show, or $30 for the show only, and can be obtained in advance from the hotel. The newly-formed Nanango parkrun group will be holding its weekly 5km timed walk/run along the Ros Gregor Trail at Tipperary Flat next to the D'Aguilar Highway south of Nanango at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the trail and the parkrun group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event (search for "Ros Gregor Trail" to find the group - but if you can't find it, just register and bring along the barcode).
Arthur Black - Kingaroy

Saturday Cricket
Round 4 of the South Burnett's 2019-20 cricket competition will get underway at four venues across the region at 12:30pm today. In Kumbia, Kumbia will play Blackbutt at the Kumbia cricket fields; in Kingaroy, Devils will play Wondai at Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street; and in Murgon, Murgon will play Services at the Murgon Sportsgrounds in Macalister Street, while Cherbourg will play Nanango at Murgon State High. Canteens will be operating at some venues and spectators are very welcome.
Beef, Pig & Lamb On A Spit - Wondai

Dance - Inverlaw Hall
A dance will be held at Inverlaw Hall on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) from 8:00pm until late this evening.
