Kingaroy Markets
The third Saturday of the month Kingaroy Markets will be held at the Cheers Triangle end of the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around 12:00pm today. The markets are jointly run by the Kingaroy Rotary Club and Kingaroy Show Society and feature a great array of arts, crafts, fruit and flower stalls. New stallholders are always very welcome! Cent Auction - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt Tennis Club will be holding a Cent Auction at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall this morning as a fundraiser. Doors open at 8:00am for a 10:00am start, and tickets (at $1 a sheet) will be available today or can be bought in advance at the Blackbutt Newsagency. The $5 entry fee includes a free sheet of tickets and a great morning tea, plus a chance to win the lucky door prize. Everyone is welcome!
Hivesville QCWA Mini Cent Auction
The Hivesville QCWA will be holding a Mini Cent Auction at the Hivesville QCWA Rooms on the Wondai-Proston Road at Hivesville at 1:00pm today - just perfect if you're looking for a relaxing afternoon of fun. The auction will feature home-made, home-grown and baked items along with a guest speaker, plants for sale, a raffle and a great afternoon tea. National Park Walk - Cooyar
The Kingaroy branch of Native Plants Queensland will be holding a nature walk through The Palms National Park near Cooyar at 9:00am this morning, kicking off with a morning tea. The Palms is one of the smallest National Parks in Australia and preserves the unique sub-tropical flora that once existed around the Cooyar area. The walk is open to both members and non-members and is free, but an RSVP would be appreciated for catering purposes. You can make one by phoning Graham on 0400-393-454
The Hinterlanders - Nanango
Country, urban and suburban six-piece band The Hinterlanders will be performing at The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to Scott Car Park) from 8:00pm until late tonight. The group have performed in Nanango once before to lots of acclaim, and tonight's "Back By Our Own Demand" show will be followed by an after-party at the nearby Palace Hotel. Tickets are $20 per head and will be available at the door unless sold out earlier.
Jeff Hancox - Kingaroy
The South Burnett's very own Elvis Jeff Hancox will be performing at the Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 7:00pm until 11:00pm tonight. Admission is free. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

Cooyar Charity Campdraft
The Cooyar Campdraft Association will be holding a Charity Campdraft at the Cooyar Showgrounds in Rangemore Road, Cooyar today as a fundraiser for local campdrafters the Burton family (who suffered a tragic accident earlier this year), Ronald McDonald House and RACQ LifeFlight. The draft will offer $15,000 in cash and $5,000 in other prizes, and a bar and canteen will be operating all day. Admission is free for spectators, too. More details? Cooloola Foodservice Open Day - Kingaroy
Cooloola Food Service is reopening its South Burnett warehouse in Kingaroy next Monday, and is holding an information day from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Kingaroy Town Hall Reception Room in Glendon Street, Kingaroy today. Residents are invited to come along and meet the owners and managers, and enjoy some free samples into the bargain.
Halloween Spooktacular - Kingaroy
The Ally Walker Dance Academy will be presenting their 13th annual gala concert - A Halloween Spooktacular - at the Kingaroy Performing Arts Centre in Markwell Street, Kingaroy (just next to Kingaroy State High) from 3:30pm to 6:30pm this afternoon. The concert will showcase dances with a Halloween theme and feature music from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Aladdin, Hocus Pocus, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pocahontas, Harry Potter, Michael Jackson, Alvin and the Chipmunks and more. After the performance, the students from Academy will be presented with their participation medals, examination trophies, and perpetual awards.
Black & Pink Party - Wondai
A Black & Pink party to help raise funds for young local sportswomen will be held at the Wondai Wolves clubhouse in the Wondai Sportsgrounds from 3:00pm until later tonight. Activities will kick off at 3:00pm with a ladies-only sunset session filled with champagne, cheeky games, a best dressed competition and much more! This will be followed at 7:00pm by a Trivia Night where teams of any size have the chance to win an awesome prize at the end. There'll also be raffles and a licensed bar. Everyone is welcome!
Intro To Painting - Kingaroy
Crowies Paints at 202 Haly Street, Kingaroy will be holding a free Intro To Painting workshop inside their shop from 9:00am to noon this morning. The workshop will provide tips about rolling, brushing and patching that will soon have you painting like an expert over all sorts of surfaces, and everyone is welcome. More details? Carriage Driving Course - Nanango
The South Burnett Equestrian Group will be running a Carriage Driving Course at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 8:00am this morning (when $10 registrations will be taken) for people who'd like to learn how to drive a horse-drawn carriage. Between 9:00am and noon, qualified coach Bob Edwards will be teaching novices how to get underway, and allowing students with some prior experience to take a drive around the grounds. After lunch, there'll be a session on setting up as cones course from 12:30pm to 2:00pm, and then the opportunity to drive a cones course from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed run at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join.
