South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Wondai Sprints
The second (and final) day of the weekend-long, third annual Wondai Sprints sprint car races will be held at the Wondai Industrial Estate off the Bunya Highway just north of Wondai's CBD today. Race time trials will be held from 8:45am to around 3:00pm, and there'll also be a huge Show and Shine held on the sports oval adjacent to the racetrack, with judging take place between 9:00am and 12:30pm and trophy presentations at 1:00pm. Over 125 entrants have nominated for this year's Sprints in classes including historic, touring cars, sports sedans, racing cars and special interest, and food and drink will be available in the grounds. Golden Spurs Campdraft - Proston
The final day of the three-day Golden Spurs Campdraft will get underway at the Proston Showgrounds on the Proston-Boondooma Road at 6:30am this morning with the Proston Golden Spurs Hotel Open Draft. This will be followed the final of the Novice Draft and then the day will wrap up with the Maiden B Draft. A bar, meals and entertainment will all be available onsite and admission is 100% free for spectators. Everyone is welcome!
Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Open Mic Afternoon At The Fitzroy - Nanango
The Fitzroy Hotel in Fitzroy Street, Nanango will be holding an Open Mic Jam Session from 2:00pm to around 6:30pm this afternoon, hosted by Mr Q. Anyone is welcome to put their name up on the blackboard and - when their turn comes - perform up to 25 minutes of originals or covers. All PAs, guitars and drums will be provided by Mr Q. Sunday Bingo - Wondai
Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.
Sunday Rugby League - Nanango
If you enjoy junior rugby league, there will be three trial games played between the South Burnett and Toowoomba Clydesdales at Fred Kassulke Oval off the D'Aguilar Highway south of Nanango's CBD today. The U13s are scheduled to play at 10:00am; the U14s at 11:00am; and the U16s at noon. A canteen will be operating on site and spectators are very welcome.
Community Clothing Share - Nanango
A South Burnett Community Clothing Share will be held in the grounds of Ringsfield House at 41-45 Alfred Street, Kingaroy from 10:30am this morning (sharing starts at 11:00am). The event is organised by the same group who run the South Burnett Home Produce Share (for home-grown fruit and vegies) and works the same way - bring along any clothes you no longer need, and swap them for other items of clothing you do need. Everyone is welcome and there's no charge to take part.
Blackbutt Country Markets
The Blackbutt Lions Country Markets - run on the third Sunday of every month - will be held at Les Muller Park in Hart Street, Blackbutt from 7:00am until around mid-day today. Wooly Rally - Wooroolin

17km Obstacle Course Trail Ride - Blackbutt
Horsetrax Oz will be running a 17km obsrtacle course trail ride through the Benarkin Forestry from 10:00am this morning. The ride will be a good one for intermediate riders or intermediate horses but is not suitable for beginners. Riding fees are $20 to cover public liability insurance if you BYO horse, or you can hire a Horsetrax Oz horse for $90. The weekly Kilkivan Railway Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon.
