South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Gamez Knight - Kingaroy
A Gamez Knight will be held at the Kingaroy Town Common Hall in Oliver Bond Street, Kingaroy from 10:00am to 7:00pm today. This monthly event - now held on the second Saturday of every month - allows participants to play any of as many as 120 different board games on offer, either by themselves or with family and/or friends. Playing fees are just $5 per head for 4 hours or $15 per family and the event is a great way to get out of the house, meet new people and get social. Yarraman Men's Shed
The Yarraman Men's Shed at the end of Mill Street, Yarraman will be holding one of its regular get-togethers today. The Men's Shed is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays and new members are always welcome. More details? Send them an email
Wooroolin Community Markets
The Wooroolin Community Markets will be held inside the Wooroolin QCWA Rooms on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin from 6:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. The markets offer stalls, a sausage sizzle, fresh produce, plants and crafts and are run on the 2nd Saturday of every month except January. Abby Skye & The Batman - Kingaroy

Byte Night - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will holding their fortnightly Byte Nite from 6:00pm to around 8:30pm this evening for Murgon and Cherbourg youngsters. Children can play a range of fun and entertaining games and pursue other amusements for free during the course of the night, as well as get a free meal and a ride home afterwards if they need one, all under the supervision of caring local volunteers. Byte Nite is an initiative of the PCYC and Murgon Business and Development Association to tackle youth crime in the district by giving youngsters something to do on a Saturday night, and anyone who'd like to volunteer to help this community-driven initiative in any way should contact Sgt Rene Bond at the PCYC on (07) 4168-1889 for more information.
Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed runs at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the parkrun group is free to join. All you need to do is register (once) online at parkrun.com.au and bring the printed barcode to any parkrun event. More details? Send an email.

Yarraman Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls, and are held weekly. Everyone is welcome and if you'd like to book a stall yourself - it's only $5! - call Joe on (0459) 638-282. Note: All patrons and stallholders are asked to observe proper social distancing to stay safe.
Murgon Men's Shed
The Murgon Men's Shed will be holding a meeting at their shed in Macalister Street, Murgon (the shed next to the former Murgon Railway Station) today. The Men's Shed meets every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday to work on projects and new members are always welcome.
Garage Sale - Kumbia
A Garage Sale will be held in the grounds of Our Lady Of Peace Church in Brook Road, Kumbia from 8:00am this morning. The sale will be offering lots of household items and plenty of bargains. Everyone is welcome!
John Lindsay - Linville
The Linville Hotel in George Street, Linville will have ballads, blues and (occasionally) psychedelic country rock entertainer John Lindsay performing during lunch and dinner today (ie 11:30 to 2:00pm, and 5:00pm to 8:00pm). The hotel's kitchen will be serving up warming winter treats, and there are free camping sites across the road if you want to stay over. Fabulous Flamingo Fanfare - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Wondai will be holding a fun morning for 7 to 12-year-olds from 9:00am to 10:30am this morning. For just $20 - to cover the cost of materials - children can learn how to draw and paint fabulous flamingos on canvas (parents and carers are welcome too). More details? Saturday Morning Tennis - Blackbutt
The Blackbutt Tennis Club will be holding social tennis matches at their courts in Hart Street, Blackbutt (just up a few doors from the Radnor Hotel) from 8:30am to 10:30am this morning. New players are always welcome.
Saturday Rugby League - Murgon
This weekend's local league competition will be played at Murgon's Showgrounds in Macalister Street, Murgon, kicking off at 8:00am with an U12s match (Cherbourg vs Murgon 2) followed at 8:50am with a second U12s match (Kingaroy 2 vs Murgon 1) and then U6s matches at 9:00am. At 9:40am there'll be a third U12s match (Nanango vs Kingaroy) and then U8s games at 10:00am. At 10:40am, Kingaroy will play Nanango in U14s, and at 11:00am Murgon 1 will play Nanango in U10s. This will be followed by Murgon vs Chinchilla in U14s at 11:40am, then Kingaroy 2 vs Murgon 2 in U10s at 11:50am. After this - at 12:40pm - the action will go up a notch when the South Burnett play the Wattles in U18s, and then things will will really heat up with an A-Grade double header between Nanango's Stags and Cherbourg's Hornets at 2:00pm; and then the second A-grade match of the day between the Murgon Mustangs and Wondai Wolves at 3:30pm. A bar and canteen will be operating in the grounds all day and spectators are very welcome!
Barefoot Bowls Afternoon - Kingaroy
A Barefoot Bowls Afternoon to help raise funds for this year's Ride 4 Relay team will be held at the Kingaroy Bowls Club in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 1:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. Participants can come as a team or join a team, and in addition to fun bowls games there'll also be afternoon tea, raffles and a licensed bar operating. Admission is $15 and all proceeds will got to Relay For Life. Everyone is welcome!
Family Bingo Night - Woolooga
Woolooga State School P&C and Woolooga's Masonic Lodge will be holding a Family Bingo Night at Woolooga's Community Hall next to the Woolooga Hotel from 5:00pm (when the doors open) until late this evening as a P&C fundraiser. Admission is $20 if you want to play bingo all night for cash prizes, and there'll be soft drinks, tea, coffee and a sausage sizzle available for purchase if you get hungry or thirsty.
