South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Murgon Christmas Festival
The new-look Murgon Christmas Festival run by the Barambah Ministers Association will be held at QEII Park in the centre of Murgon's CBD from 4:30pm until around 9:30pm today. Rides, fairy floss and face-painting for children will start operating at 4:30pm and popular Christian band Iron & Clay will perform on the Lamb Street Rotunda from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, followed by community Christmas carols. Note: The former Murgon Christmas Festival run by the MBDA has now moved to Easter and become the Easter Speggtacular.
Flicks In The Sticks - Goomeri
The Goomeri Pumpkin Festival will be holding a free outdoor movie night at the Goomeri Sportsgrounds in McIvor Street, Goomeri from 7:00pm this evening. The feature movie will be Kiwi Christmas and coffee, ice creams and hot chips will be on sale in the grounds. Guests should BYO blanket or chairs, and everyone is welcome.
Hivesville Christmas Carnival
Hivesville will be holding its annual Christmas Carnival in Anzac Park from 5:30pm to around 8:00pm tonight. The carnival is organised by the Hivesville Progress Association, Hivesville Markets and Council and will feature a sausage sizzle and light refreshments, live entertainment from the Seventh Day Adventist Church Choir (who'll be performing Christmas carols - they're very good), a visit from Santa at about 7:00pm and raffle drawings at 8:00pm. Afterwards, the nearby Hivesville Hotel will be offering live music from 8:00pm to 11:00pm. Everyone is welcome! Kingaroy QCWA Meeting
The Kingaroy branch of the QCWA will be holding their regular second Friday of the month meeting at the QCWA Rooms in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy (just next to Kingaroy RSL) from 9:30am to around 12:00 noon this morning. Murder At Crimson House - Kingaroy
The fifth performance of the South Burnett Musical Comedy Society's theatre restaurant production "Murder At Crimson House" will be held at the Trades Hall inside Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy at 6:30pm tonight. Tickets for a two-course dinner and the show are $40 per person and need to be booked online. One final performance will be held at the same time and venue tomorrow night.
Tanduringie State School Picnic Day
Tanduringie State School will be holding its annual Picnic Day today for school families and the community to celebrate the conclusion of the 2019 school year. Beer And Burger Night - Knigaroy
Huskys Burgers outside SupaIGA in Avoca Street, Kingaroy will be holding a Beer and Burger Night until 8:30pm this evening. Guests planning a night on the town can buy their beer at takeaway prices from the bottle shop located diagonally opposite, then bring them over to Husky's for a sit-down burger dinner. The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:00pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting (or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer). South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
