Wine & Food In The Park Festival

The 19th annual Wine & Food In The Park Festival will be held at Memorial Park in Haly Street, Kingaroy from 12:00 noon today through to 8:00pm tonight. The Festival has grown over the years to be the biggest single festival held in the South Burnett each year as well as the region's most loved Autumn get-together, and this year's WAFITP promises to be bigger and better than ever. The festival's new "village-style" layout that proved so popular last year will be returning, blending local and visiting wineries in with the Festival's exotic Giant Food Court. There'll also be a jam-packed program of live entertainment and a relaxed craft beer and cider beer garden in the grounds, along with the normal bar. The Festival's popular - and usually outrageous! - street performers will also be wending their way through the crowds all day. Admission is still just $20 per head for adults (under-18s can get in for free), which includes $5 in bonus tickets that can be redeemed for ice-cold bottled water, slushies or wine coolers at the festival tent. And after the day winds down, most local entertainment venues in Kingaroy will be holding post-WAFITP parties for revellers who want to carry on into the night. You can find out anything else you'd like to know about this year's Wine & Food In The Park Festival on the Festival's website.

The Proston Show is always a big event in the western South Burnett and today's activities will get underway with horse-riding events, stud cattle judging. There'll be all the usual fun activities, including wood-chopping, post-ripping, amusement rides and evening entertainment. Admission to today's Show is just $10 for adults, $5 for high school students and $3 for primary school students (under-5s are admitted free). A family pass for two adults and any number of children is also available for $25. More details? Contact Show Society secretary Glenda McArdle on 0423-612-971 or by emailing her.
