The South Burnett Regional Council will be starting work on two new concrete footpaths in Murgon and Kingaroy in the coming fortnight.

Next Monday, February 12 workers will start building a fooptpath in Gore Street, Murgon that will connect the school side of Stephens Street West to Dutton Street East, a distance of 340m.

This project will involve excavation, concrete laying, line marking and signage and is expected to be completed in April.

The following Monday, February 19 work will start on a new footpath on the northern side of Haly Street, Kingaroy that will connect Fisher Street to Clark and Swendsons Road, a distance of 820m.

This project will involve tree trimming, excavation, concrete laying, line marking and signage and is also expected to be completed in April.

In order to provide a safe work environment, the footpath and parking lane in the immediate work area will be closed and some minor disruptions are anticipated.

Through traffic will be controlled by signage or traffic control, with some minor delays expected.

Local residents or business owners may have restricted access to their properties for short periods, but when this occurs they will be notified in advance by the onsite supervisor.

Any residents with concerns during the construction period should contact the onsite supervisor or the Council’s Customer Service Centres on (07) 4189-9100.
