The young business couple who created the NB Inspirations department store and Jacaranda Tearooms in Proston have made it to the semi-finals of the WFI Insurance Small Business Achiever Award.

Nick and Anita Blanch were nominated for the award by Cr Ros Heit, who said she thought the couple’s contribution to the town was “outstanding”.

The Small Business Award forms part of the 2018 Queensland Young Achiever Awards.

They aim to encourage, acknowledge and reward the valuable contributions young people are making throughout Queensland.

Semi-finalist nominations will now be reviewed by a judging panel during the final stages of judging, where the finalists will be selected.

Final judging will take place on Tuesday, March 6 and the winners announced at the Awards Presentation Gala Dinner at the Sir Charles Kingsford Smith Ballroom inside Royal on the Park Brisbane on Friday, May 4.

350 people are expected to attend the dinner from around the state, including many VIP’s and the media.
