Two men were lucky to escape with their lives after a horrific crash involving a truck on the Bunya Highway on Tuesday morning.

The pair were taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital. A QAS spokesman said both had non-life threatening injuries.

The incident occurred just after 9:30am on a stretch of the highway between Kingaroy and Kumbia.

Police said a work ute belonging to a plumbing company hit the back of a stockfeed truck which had slowed to turn right into a farm.

The stockfeed truck was not badly damaged but the roof of the Toyota HiLux was ripped off and the front of the vehicle destroyed.

The passenger in the Toyota managed to free himself and helped the driver out before emergency services arrived.

Police, multiple ambulances and the QFES attended the scene.
