The South Burnett Regional Council plans to begin clearing vegetation along Schellbachs Road at Booie on October 31.

A Council spokesperson said the project aimed to improve safety along the road.

The clearing will take place in two locations 2.2km and 3.3km from the Kingaroy-Barkers Creek Road intersection with Schellbachs Road.

A Council spokesperson said the works would also include drainage improvements and gravel resheeting at each location.

It is expected the work will be completed next month, weather permitting.

While works are being conducted, the road will be closed to through traffic from 6:00am to 4:00pm between Curtis Road and Haydens Road.

Residents living within the work area will be guided in and out of their properties by traffic controllers, however they may encounter minor delays.
