The Nanango Race Club will be holding its annual Heritage Cup Race Meeting on Saturday – always one of its most colourful meetings of the year.

This month’s races will have an “Fedoras, Fascinators and Furs” theme and racegoers are encouraged to dress up in their most stylish hats and fascinators to be in the running for some great Moffatdale Ridge Fashions Of The Field prizes.

The race club’s popular Champagne@the Bit bar will be serving up platters all day if you fancy a bite; a licensed bar and barbecue will be operating under the extended covered area; and the race club’s canteen will be open for sit-down dining, too.

There’ll be plenty of bookmakers and an on-course tote available in the betting ring to take your wagers, and today all losing betting tickets for $5 or higher can go into the draw to win a dinner for two at the Noosa Beach House and an overnight stay at the luxurious Sofitel Hotel.

A lot of people like to use the Heritage Cup Race Meeting for Spring get-togethers and parties, and guests are welcome to picnic on the lawns or even bring their own marquee.

This is a five-race meeting and buses will be running to the races from Kingaroy’s Glendon Street Bus Depot at 12:00 noon, and the Nanango RSL at 12:30pm.

Gates open at 10:00am and the first race will leave the barriers at 1:30pm.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for pensioners (under 16s are free).
