August 9, 2017

Kingaroy Town Hall was transformed into a “Winter Wonderland” on Friday night for Kingaroy State High School’s annual Flair concert.

The talents of Year 7-12 students were on display before a large audience of friends and relatives.

Year 12 school captains choose the theme for the night of singing, dancing, poetry, music and more.

The Flair concert is unusual as it is organised by the students themselves, and raises money for the high school’s Chaplaincy program.

A cent auction and raffles added to the fundraising.

The 30 Japanese students from Fudooka school topped off their Australian visit by performing a dance on stage.

Teacher ¬†Yasuhiro Yamashita earned enthusiastic applause with his unplugged version of the Beatles’ classic, “Yesterday”.

Year 7 students from the Kingaroy Dance Academy also performed a group dance.

The second half of the concert was launched with a performance by the KSHS Stage Band, followed shortly afterwards by a solo performance by music teacher Matt Phillips.
