Lee Kernaghan … his Double Platinum-selling album ‘The Outback Club’ was released in 1992

August 10, 2017

Tickets have gone on sale for country legend Lee Kernaghan’s one-night performance in Kingaroy in October.

The original “boy from the bush” – who has won 36 Golden Guitars awards – will be performing at the Kingaroy Town Hall on Sunday, October 29.

The gig is part of Lee’s “Boys From The Bush” 25th Anniversary Tour.

It’s hard to believe that it’s 25 years since “The Outback Club”, and its anthem opening track, were released.

The single “Boys From The Bush” hit number one on the Australian Country Singles Chart on July 4, 1992.

The album won the 1993 Aria award for “Best Country Album”, and sales soared to Double Platinum status.

Lee has been a frequent visitor to Kingaroy over the years, and the South Burnett has always rewarded him by packing out the Town Hall.

He will be accompanied this time at the all-ages gig by Tasmanian country rock band, The Wolfe Brothers.

The band consists of two brothers, Nick and Tom Wolfe, and their best mate, guitarist Brodie Rainbird.

They all grew up together on the same road in a rural area just outside Hobart.

The Wolfe Brothers were nominated for four Golden Guitar Awards at the 2014 Australian Country Music Awards in Tamworth.

In 2014, the band was presented with the trophy for CMC’s New Artist Of The Year and in 2016 were finalists in three categories at CMC Music Awards: Group Of The Year, Australian Video Of The Year and Oz Artist Of The Year. They took home the CMC Group Of The Year Award.
