A Women’s Community Forum funded by the State Government’s Office for Women will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall on Monday, July 10 from 5.00pm to 7:00pm.

The event is open to women of all ages, but young women are particularly encouraged to attend.

The forum aims to engage in a meaningful discussion about the roles and status of women in the South Burnett, the predominant issues facing women in the local community and the services in place to support them.

Topics up for discussion may include domestic violence, social isolation, and a shortage of support services for women in crisis, as well as gender inequality and discrimination.

The forum will be compered by staff from the One Woman Project’s Queensland office.

It is one of a series of five similar workshops that will also be held in Gympie, Maryborough, Bundaberg and Hervey Bay between July 10-21.

Free catering will be provided on the night, but to help plan it properly an email RSVP is necessary.
