A crowd-funding page has been set up to help a rodeo rider badly injured in a single vehicle crash at Gilla earlier this week.

Angus Ridney, from Nindigully, was the sole occupant of the LandCruiser trayback which left the D’Aguilar Highway between Yarraman and Blackbutt, ran down an embankment and crashed into a tree.

Mr Ridney, 21, was trapped in the vehicle for several hours before being freed by QFES personnel.

He was taken to Nanango Hospital and then flown to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

Sophie Weeden set up the GoFundMe page which has raised $7155 in just three days towards Mr Ridney’s medical expenses and other costs.

Members of the rodeo community have also rallied around to make donations to his family.
