Two new construction projects in the Nanango district will get under way on Monday

July 20, 2017

The South Burnett Regional Council will be starting a new footpath project in Nanango next week, as well as a road widening and sealing project at Glan Devon.

Council workers will begin installing a new concrete footpath in King Street, Nanango on Monday (July 24).

Works will include the excavation of the existing footpath where necessary, and laying a new concrete footpath on the southern side of King Street.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month, weather permitting.

The SBRC will also begin roadworks on Runnymede Road at Glan Devon on Monday.

This project involves widening the existing bitumen seal to 6.5m on sections between the Burnett Highway and Walsh Road.

Construction work will include clearing and grubbing, drainage, pavement construction and sealing.

This project is expected to be completed in four weeks, weather permitting.

To provide a safe work environment, traffic along Runnymede Road will be controlled by traffic lights or traffic controllers, and motorists can expect minor delays.

Vehicle access to properties facing  Runnymede Road may also be affected, but residents will be notified prior to any planned works.

Any residents with concerns about either project should contact the on-site supervisor.

All other enquiries can be directed to the Council’s Customer Service Centre on (07) 4189-9100.

Meanwhile, a Council spokesperson said work on widening the existing bitumen seal on Mt Stanley Road between East Nanango-Grindstone Road and Bullcamp Road, which began on July 10, was proceeding to plan.

This project is scheduled to be completed by August 7, weather permitting.
