A 12-year-old boy was injured when two brothers riding trail bikes accidentally crashed into each other on a property near Kingaroy on Sunday morning.

An RACQ LifeFlight spokesperson said the brothers collided head-on.

One suffered suspected head and limb injuries.

The boy was transferred by road ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital and then flown, accompanied by his mother, to the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.

The spokesperson said the boy was wearing a helmet which helped to reduce the extent of his injuries.
