Detectives from Murgon and Kingaroy have joined colleagues from Dalby, Toowoomba, Roma, St George and Charleville in a blitz targeting various offences.

“Operation Papa Keeper” swept through the South West District to clear up child protection offences as well as armed robbery, rape, stalking, assaults and illicit drugs.

Police allegedly seized 18.5kg of cannabis in one haul.

Detective Sergeant Craig Ellis said the operation was a tremendous success, resulting in over 78 charges.

Eighteen people were arrested and more than 14 notices to appear in court were issued.
