One of Kingaroy’s longest residential streets will be getting a concrete footpath over the next seven weeks, thanks to the State Government.

The South Burnett Regional Council will begin laying a footpath along the southern side of Ivy Street on Monday (May 15).

The project is being paid for by the Queensland Government through its “Works For Queensland” job creation program, which saw the Council receive a bonus $4.2 million in January this year for maintenance and minor capital works projects.

The works will include the excavation of the existing footpath, where necessary, and the laying of the
new concrete footpath.

The project’s anticipated completion date is the end of June, weather permitting.

To provide a safe working environment, the footpath and parking areas in the immediate vicinity will be
closed when required, and through traffic will be directed by traffic controllers.

Property access in Ivy Street may also be restricted for short periods, but residents will be notified in advance of any planned works.

Any residents with concerns about property access should contact the onsite supervisor, or the Council’s Customer Service Centres on (07) 4189-9100.
