Concert goers who’d like to help a good cause are in for a special treat this Saturday night (May 27).

Nanango’s Our Lady Help Of Christians Catholic church will be celebrating its centenary this September, and supporters have arranged a special concert to help with the church’s fund-raising efforts.

They aim to get the historic Gipps Street building fully refurbished for its 100th birthday, and have been working on the project for the past two years.

They will be staging “A Night Of Fine Music” at the church at 6:30pm – a follow-up to a very successful opera recital by soprano Calista Walters last November.

Saturday’s concert will feature Brisbane pianist Maddy Payne, bass/baritone Rodney Larsen, Gold Coast folk singer and guitarist Tony Foran and the South Burnett Community Orchestra’s Wind and String Ensembles.

“This is a mixture of music for everyone!” organiser Anne Davoren said.

Tickets to the concert are $20 for adults – which includes supper at interval – and school children will be admitted free.

They can be obtained in advance from the Nanango Visitor Information Centre in Henry Street or by phoning Anne on 0439-709-214, but tickets will also be available at the door on Saturday night.
