Maidenwell’s big weekend of events was topped off on Easter Sunday night with the annual town rodeo.

A large ring, surrounded by seating for spectators, was erected in its usual spot beside the Maidenwell Hotel and quickly filled for a night of bull-riding action.

Competition was fierce with riders aiming to take home the $1500 cash prize for top spot in the bull ride.

There were also good prizes on offer in the other grades: Novice Bull Ride $350, U18 Junior Bull Ride $250, U15 Junior Steer Ride $100 and U12 Poddy Ride $100.

As the rodeo wound down, live music provided by the Boots and Bandits Band fired up on the outdoor stage to keep the party atmosphere going.
