The Wondai Indoor Bowls Club will be well represented at the national titles that will be held in Launceston later this year.

Seven members have nominated to be part of a strong contingent of players drawn from all over Queensland.

Clive and Beth Weier, Vince Lakin, Daphne Ladlow, Val Klein, Faye Holding and Margaret Stevenson will be travelling to the Apple Isle in August for the competition.

The Australian Championships, which will be played over several days, will comprise Men’s and Ladies singles, three combinations in Pairs, Men’s and Ladies rinks plus a mixed Fours event.

This weekend, many of the players will be competing in the Dalby carnival.

The winners of the recent Vince Lakin Shield held at Wondai were the Kingaroy triples side of Peter Wingfield, Lila Rae and Hazel Siddans.

Runners-up were Keith Kratzmann, Val Klein and Clive Weier.

The Wondai Club held its annual meeting on Tuesday evening, where long standing president Vince Lakin was elected for a further term.

Other key officers are senior vice-president Faye Holding, junior vice-president Clive Weier, secretary Lorraine Rook, treasurer Maryanne Pearce, games director Clive Weier, and selectors Faye Holding, Maryanne Pearce, Beth Weier and Vince Lakin.
