FLASHBACK: Hayley Elliott, from Cooyar; Jamie-Lee Barron, Cooyar; 2016 Cooyar Miss Showgirl Sam Wolski, from Yarraman, and Brooke Barron, Cooyar, at the 2016 Cooyar Show Ball

February 10, 2017

The Cooyar Agricultural Society will be breaking new ground this Saturday night with a sparkling Cocktail Party at Cooyar Memorial Hall.

The cocktail party will replace the Cooyar Show Ball, the traditional curtain-raiser for the Show, but will retain many of its most popular features.

Doors will open at 6:30pm, and guests will be able to enjoy a finger food buffet, a licensed bar, DJ entertainment and a special cocktail bar that will serve everything from exotic cocktails to non-alcoholic mocktails.

Entrants and winners of this year’s Miss Cooyar Showgirl and Miss Teen Showgirl will be announced during the course of the evening, and a Junior Princess – for girls aged under 12 – will be judged from the floor.

There will also be a photo booth, along with a kid’s zone which will provide a safe, fun place for children to hang out during the evening.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for young people aged 12-17, and $5 for children aged 3-11.

Organiser Jacinta Ryan said originally all tickets were going to be sold by pre-bookings, but there were still some available and they’ll be sold at the door.

Enquiries about tickets can also be made on Cooyar Events.

This year’s Cooyar Show will incorporate a campdraft, and will be held on Saturday, February 25.
