The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) will release final results and OPs for Year 12 graduates online on Saturday (December 17).

Hard-copy certificates will arrive in the post from early next week.

Education Minister Kate Jones said 2016 had been a year of record achievement in senior secondary schools.

“Ninety-three per cent of the 51,613 Year 12 students achieved a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE),” Ms Jones said.

“We are continuing to see an increasing number of students achieving a QCE with another increase on last year’s record.

“This is also an increase of 18 per cent since the qualification was introduced in 2008.”

The QCE recognises student attainment in school courses, vocational education and training, workplace learning and university subjects.

“I congratulate the class of 2016 on its success and thank Queensland’s dedicated teachers for supporting students every day in the classroom.”

Ms Jones said there are many options available to students who do not get the results they hoped for.

“Students who are disappointed can upgrade their results, seek an alternative entry route to university or access a training program to develop their skills,” she said.

QCAA chief executive officer Chris Rider said Certificates of Academic Commendation would be sent to 908 students who received Very High Achievement (VHA) in at least 24 semesters of Authority subjects (the equivalent of six VHAs).

“The commendation is the first category to be awarded by the QCAA in the annual Queensland Certificate of Education Achievement Awards,” Mr Rider said.

“Winners in a further six categories will be announced at an awards ceremony in February.”

Students can access their Year 12 results from 9:00am on Saturday, December 17 using their Learner Unique Identifier and password to log into their learning account on the QCAA’s Student Connect website

Students who have questions about their results can call the Student Connect hotline on 1800 804 991.
