Stanwell Corporation announced on Thursday they will be offering a second $10,000 a year tertiary study scholarship in 2017.

The second scholarship is in addition to a scholarship in Mining / Civil Engineering the company is jointly offering in partnership with Downer Mining.

The Cid Burke Occupational Health and Safety Study Support Scholarship will offer $10,000 a year in financial support for a period of up to four years to a South Burnett resident who wants to gain formal qualifications in OH&S through a recognised tertiary institution.

The scholarship is named after Cid Burke, who was employed at the Tarong Power Station for more than 20 years and who was passionate about OH&S and community service.

They will also be able to demonstrate a commitment to their community through volunteering, and must be a South Burnett resident.

Applicants will need to provide a covering letter outlining their suitability for the scholarship, a current CV and any other supporting documentation they think is relevant.

Applications can be made online at Stanwell’s website and any queries can be made by email.
