Swickers workers will begin travelling from Kingaroy to Ipswich on Monday.

A total of 120 employees from the burned out boning room will leave Kingaroy on board coaches on Monday morning and return on Friday afternoon.

This will be repeated every week until the fire damage can be rectified, perhaps as long as 18 months.

For the first four weeks of the Ipswich transfer, the workers will be booked into two hotels: one for the morning shift and one for the afternoon shift.

After that, it is hoped a temporary accommodation facility will be built at Wulkuraka so the work can continue in Ipswich for as long as it takes.

Sunpork Group CEO Dr Robert van Barneveld said it was also important the workers have the flexibility to be able to return to Kingaroy during the week if they have commitments in town.

For this reason, Swickers would also be providing two shuttles every day for the morning and afternoon shifts.
