Lela and Sandra Parr drew a round of applause for their spectacular gowns when they arrived at the Town Hall forecourt for this year’s Kingaroy State High School formal

Students arrived in trucks, classic American cars, utes – and even a motorbike – at Kingaroy State High School’s 2016 Year 12 formal on Thursday evening.

The red carpet arrivals always attract a big crowd and this year’s event was no exception.

Police and SES blocked off Glendon Street outside the Kingaroy Town Hall earlier in the afternoon and carefully controlled the arrival of the cavalcade of 78 vehicles.

After alighting from their vehicles, the students and their partners walked a red carpet to the doors of the Town Hall through a sea of family and friends who were clapping and snapping away on phones, iPads, and even a few cameras.

There were 151 students in Kingaroy State High School’s class of 2016.
