A delegation from a Chinese cosmetics company visited several South Burnett companies last week as part of a fact-finding tour to locate potential suppliers for their business.

The group, from the Guangzhou Aiyun Biological Technology Co Ltd, was led by general manager Xiaojian Xu and deputy general manager Meihong Pan.

On Thursday, they visited Bean Growers Australia in Kingaroy, before enjoying dinner at Cassis Restaurant at Booie.

The menu was designed to highlight South Burnett produce.

On Friday, the group inspected the crushing plant and oil refinery at Proteco in Kingaroy where they discussed the various refined oils the company manufactures.

Guangzhou Aiyun Biological Technology Co is based near Guangzhou, formerly known in the English-speaking world as Canton. This is China’s third-largest city and is closer to Hong Kong and Macau than Kingaroy is to Brisbane.

In 2013, Guangzhou Aiyun Biological Technology Co developed a new line of skincare products for pregnant women called Kangaroo Mommy.

This brand, which uses high quality agricultural inputs, is now a top-seller online which means the company is investigating more sources for its ingredients.
