A man aged in his 40s was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition after a motorbike accident at Cherbourg on Sunday.

The man was riding a dirt bike when he came off, suffering suspected chest injuries.

An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was despatched from Toowoomba at 11:00am.

The injured man was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

RACQ LifeFlight was also called to assist a rider after a motocross accident near Chinchilla on Sunday afternoon.

The rider suffered suspected chest injuries when he clipped another motocross bike mid-air and lost control.

The Toowoomba-based helicopter was tasked to retrieve the injured man from Chinchilla Hospital about 6:00pm.

He was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
