Some of the musical entertainment on offer at the Proston Senior Citizens’ lunch …
… and some more

August 18, 2016

About 200 people packed into Proston Community Hall on Thursday to enjoy lunch and celebrate Queensland Seniors Week.

The day was hosted by Proston Over 50s Club, Proston QCWA and the Proston Show Society.

Buses came from Kingaroy, Nanango, Wondai and Murgon as well as participants from Blackbutt and outside the South Burnett.

The seniors were entertained by Proston schoolchildren singing as well as recitals, various choral groups and solo acts.

A hot roast lunch was served and the seniors enjoyed a great day of camaraderie and celebration.

Deputy Mayor Kathy Duff opened the day with a pink ribbon and both she and Cr Ros Heit spoke about the value and contribution of seniors to the community.
