Several South Burnett junior cricketers have been selected to undergo further training as part of the Queensland Rookie Program run by Queensland cricket.

The program is a statewide project which aims to extend and stretch the skills development of players.

The young male and female cricketers were selected by Queensland Cricket talent spotters and will get access to individual coaching and mentoring.

South Burnett cricketers selected include players from Murgon, Kingaroy and Nanango.

Selected in the 26-strong Female South Queensland Silver Rookie Squad are Taylah Kidman, Kate Ferling, Courtney Sippel, Renee Irvine and Kathryn Kidman.

Justin Bunker was selected in the 24-strong Male South Queensland Silver Rookie Squad.
