Kingaroy detectives executed a number of search warrants this week with the help of Taskforce ARGOS police from Brisbane in relation to child pornography.

The search warrants resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old man from Wattle Camp and a 52-year-old man from Booie.

The Wattle Camp man has been charged with possessing child exploitation material in relation to computer-generated images. Police investigations into this matter are continuing.

The Booie man has been charged with possessing child exploitation material and using a carriage service to access child pornography. Police will allege he had more than 400 images on his computer.

Both men have been granted bail to appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court.

Detective Sergeant Dan Sheraton said the evidence located was very concerning to police.

“It is a priority of detectives to continue to vigorously investigate any such cases, with a view to protecting children from these offences,” he said.

“Police have established procedures to identify and investigate these types of offences, however if anyone in the community has any further information please contact Kingaroy Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800-333-00.”
