The green ballot paper is for the House of Representatives (the Lower House) and the very long white ballot paper is for the Senate (the Upper House) … remember, voting is compulsory

June 30, 2016

After enduring weeks of campaigning, voters can breathe a sigh of relief … the Federal Election will finally be over on Saturday.

South Burnett Online has put together this handy election guide for South Burnett residents.

Three Federal Electorates cross the South Burnett: Maranoa, Flynn and Wide Bay.

To check which electorate you’re in – and to check you are enrolled – visit the Australian Electoral Commission website.

Voters must select their preferred candidates for the House of Representatives (green ballot paper) as well as the Senate (large white ballot paper).
