Dairy Australia has received a $402,200 grant from the Federal Government  to help smaller dairy producers export premium products to the Chinese market.

Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce said the funding under the $15 million Package Assisting Smaller Exporters scheme was important to open new market opportunities for the dairy industry.

“Smaller exporters lack some of the advantages of the bigger players when it comes to getting their product to market,” Mr Joyce said.

“That’s why the Coalition is backing the dairy industry to help move more of our quality dairy foods and beverages into the kitchens of Chinese homes and restaurants.”

The funding aims to assist smaller dairy exporters and potential exporters capitalise on opportunities arising out of the free trade agreement with China.
