Eleanor and Wayne Kratzmann … toasting the opening of their new deck area

May 5, 2016

Former South Burnett mayor Wayne Kratzmann seems to be settling into life post-Council, throwing his energy into helping his wife Eleanor expand their Bunya Mountains business.

The couple officially opened their new deck area at their Lyrics Restaurant and Elz Bistro at Dandabah with a private function for invited guests on Sunday evening.

The deck area will enable patrons to enjoy a drink in the sunshine during the day, or relax in front of the gas fire come evening.

South Burnett tradesmen, including Nanango builder Josh Mangan and Wondai electrician Owen Blamires, worked on the project.

The Kratzmanns have also moved their popular Seafood Sundays from the last Sunday of the month to the first Sunday.

Eleanor said the last Sunday had just become “too hectic” with people visiting the Bunya Mountains to enjoy the local markets.

On special occasions, such as long weekends, Eleanor plans to book a musician to entertain guests on the new deck.

Mark and Janelle Smith, from Murgon; and Lance Frahm, from Proston
Alison and Percy Iszlaub, from Wondai, were relaxing on the deck
Leanne and Owen Blamires and Jack Hyde, from Wondai
Tracey and Andrew Tunstall and John Box, from Kingaroy
Jane Iszlaub, from Kingaroy, and Kristy Frahm, from Proston
The Kratzmanns christened the deck with some live music … they aim to continue to do this on special nights such as long weekends
