May is Australian Wine Month, and two South Burnett wineries will be celebrating it with different events.

Kingsley Grove Estate at 49 Stuart Valley Drive west of Kingaroy will be holding a Wine Masterclass on Sunday, May 8.

The Masterclass will be held at the winery’s cellar door where winemaker Simon Berry will provide insights into Queensland’s wine regions and the history and evolution of the wine industry in the South Burnett.

Simon will then guide guests through a selection of Kingsley Grove’s wines while they enjoy a locally sourced cheese plate, before finishing with a wood-fired pizza lunch.

“I think guests will make interesting discoveries and get some real insights into wine,” Simon said.

“We’ll be providing tasting notes as well as food pairing ideas, and we aim to make the experience a very interesting and entertaining afternoon with like-minded wine lovers.”

The Masterclass will run from 11:00am to 2:00pm and the cost is $29.50 per person.

Kingsley Grove we can also cater for any special food requirements if you give them advance notice.

Bookings can be made online at Eventbrite or by phoning the winery on (07) 4162 2229.

Later this month, Moffatdale Ridge Winery on Barambah Road at Moffatdale will be marking Australian Wine Month with a Tuscan Feast on Sunday, May 22.

This popular event will start with wine tastings at 10:30am in the cellar door, then flow on to a four course Mediterranean feast served at tables set up on the balcony for guests to share with friends.

There’ll also be live entertainment from Queensland’s premier Italian entertainer Fortunato Isgro, who will entertain diners with all the old classics from Dean Martin, Elvis and more than a few Italian classics.

The cost of the Tuscan Feast is $35 per head, excluding wines and soft drinks, and because these events are usually sold out bookings are essential.

They can be made by phoning the winery on (07) 4168-4797
