Nine programs will be shifting from the WIN Network to Southern Cross Ten; WIN will start streaming Network Ten content

The TV station two-step for regional viewers continued on Monday with news that the WIN Network has signed a deal with Ten Network Holdings to stream its premium content.

The move had been widely tipped following last month’s decision by Nine Entertainment Co to dump its long-standing relationship with WIN and shift its content to Southern Cross Ten, owned by Southern Cross Austereo (SCA).

The swap means that for South Burnett viewers from July 1, Nine’s metropolitan free-to-air content will move from the WIN Network to Southern Cross Ten, and Ten Network’s metropolitan content – including MasterChef Australia, the KFC Big Bash League and Formula One – will move to WIN-TV.

WIN has signed a five-year deal with Ten.

The regional network has committed to continuing its evening regional news bulletin.

According to a statement to the ASX on Friday, WIN will pay Ten a higher affiliation fee than currently paid under Ten’s existing regional supply agreements.

At the same time, Ten announced it had signed a new five-year deal with Southern Cross Austereo to stream its content into northern NSW.

WIN owner Bruce Gordon is the major shareholder in the Ten Network.
