Nanango’s Jenny Morgan received some happy news this week … the bras collected in the South Burnett have made it safely to Papua New Guinea.

Jenny said she had received an email from her friend Gillian Torie who had volunteered to distribute the underwear at the PNG end.

“There was much excitement when the boxes arrived,” Jenny said.

“The  women were jumping up and down.”

Gillian also relayed the thanks of the women to Jenny and the people of the South Burnett.

“Thank God for you and all who have helped,” she wrote.

The bras were distributed in Naura, a village near Milne Bay, and the islands of Goodenough and Normanby in Milne Bay province.

Jenny said she had already began collecting more bras to send across.

As before, bras – especially larger sizes – can be left at Morgan’s Health Solutions in Nanango, Nanango Real Estate, Sasswear in Kingaroy Shoppingworld, Nanango RSL Sub-Branch, Bunya Nut Cafe Blackbutt, and Goomeri Information Centre.

A new drop-off point is the Murgon Diggers Club.

Bras can also be mailed directly to Jenny at PO Box 2, Nanango, 4615.
