Kingaroy Police have asked residents to keep an eye out for a roaming dog which bit a woman on Monday morning.

The woman was walking her own dog  through the Kingaroy Soccer Fields when a brindle Staffy with a chain around its neck confronted her.

The dog bit the woman on her thigh, causing a puncture wound. She also suffered a wound to her arm as she was trying to defend herself.

Her dog was not injured.

Police and the South Burnett Regional Council are investigating.

‘We don’t want to see this happen again or an attack on a child,” Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said.

Police were called to a noise complaint in Campbell Street, Kingaroy, at 4:00am on Friday. 

Snr Sgt Frank said they attempted to negotiate with a male occupant of the house but he became abusive, aggressive and unco-operative.

A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with obstructing police.

While this man was being arrested, a 31-year-old man allegedly threw a beer bottle at police.

Snr Sgt Frank said this bottle smashed on the road, showering a police officer with glass.

This second man, who allegedly told police he was acting out of “loyalty” to his friend, was arrested and charged with serious assault on police.

On Friday night, police received a report that a white HiLux ute with what looked like painters’ racks in the tray had attempted to pull over a vehicle.

The HiLux allegedly had red and blue flashing lights on the dashboard.

Snr Sgt Frank said an offence had been committed if people were attempting to impersonate police.

At 11:30pm on Friday, Kingaroy police were called to a hotel where an intoxicated man was allegedly abusing people. A 26-year-old man was arrested and charged with public nuisance and obstructing police.

At 1:30am on Saturday, police attended the drive-thru area at Kingaroy McDonald’s. A 32-year-old man was charged with public nuisance.

At 2:00am on Sunday, police were called back to the drive-thru after reports of an altercation. Police and ambulance assisted a man who had been pushed to the ground.

However, while they were helping the first man, a 19-year-old youth allegedly became abusive to police. He was arrested and charged with public nuisance.

Police attended a home in Rae Street, Kingaroy, on Saturday morning and located a man wanted for questioning in regards to an offence of evading police on January 26.

Police will allege the driver sped away at high speed from a patrol in the Kingaroy CBD about 9:00pm on Australia Day.

The man has  been charged with evading police and unlicensed driving.

Snr Sgt Frank said the man allegedly told police he hadn’t stopped because he was unlicensed.

A 2:00pm on Saturday, police spoke to a woman in Glendon Street, Kingaroy, whom they thought was behaving erratically.

A search allegedly found an amount of crystal substance in her bag. She has been charged with possessing dangerous drugs.

At 4:00pm on Sunday, a 24-year-old woman was arrested by police on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court.
