Santa’s helpers Emily Buckle and Kelly Hollier, from Kingaroy, were spreading Christmas cheer by handing out lollies to children waiting to see Santa

December 11, 2015

Organisers promised “the best Kingaroy Christmas Carnival ever” and they didn’t disappoint on Thursday night.

An earlier downpour would have had them worried for a while – and did scare off a couple of stallholders – but then the sun came out in plenty of time to dry up the streets for a perfect evening of fun.

There were lots of rides for children to enjoy including a giant slide, climbing wall and the always-popular Splatt Sponge Attack.

The highlight of the night, though, for most of the youngsters was the arrival of Santa Claus who was delivered to O’Neill Square aboard a fire engine.

His helpers handed out balloons and sweets as the children crowded around.

For the older “kids”, the traditional Kingaroy Rotary Club ham wheel was as popular as ever.

There were also market stalls to explore and several stores stayed open in Haly and Kingaroy streets for late-night shoppers.

One Response to "Christmas Fun Keeps Rain Away"
