This year’s South Burnett Christmas Lights competition boasts one of the most generous prize pools in Queensland, thanks to the generosity of Gina Rinehart’s Hancock Prospecting.

Entries are now open, and prizes include family holidays to Singapore and cash payments of up to $1000.

“We are very appreciative of the welcome we’ve had from the Kingaroy and South Burnett community,” Mrs Rinehart said.

“We also respect and regard highly our wonderful friends in the area.

“Hancock Prospecting is a wholly Australian private company that invests in our country and has a record of employing people in country areas in Australia.

“I grew up in the country and love country people and their values, and we’re very happy to be able to be a part of bringing a little extra Christmas cheer to our friends and other good people in the region.”

The main prize, for the South Burnett Champion, is a trip to Singapore for two adults and two children (up to 12 years) including return economy, full-service flights from Brisbane to Singapore.

The trip includes five nights’ accommodation at the Shangri La Hotel in a tower wing, deluxe room, with breakfast daily. Return private transfers between Singapore Airport and the Shangri La Hotel, High Tea at Raffles, and comprehensive travel insurance are included. The holiday is worth an estimated $15,000.
