Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has congratulated Kingaroy’s Endeavour Foundation on being named as one of several local community groups who have been awarded a Gambling Community Benefit Fund grant in the latest round of State Government funding.

Mrs Frecklington said four South Burnett groups in the Nanango Electorate shared in more than $100,000, with the Endeavour Foundation receiving just over $26,000 to build a new 12m x 6m packing shed behind their Kingaroy Kitchen facility.

“I was so pleased to visit the Kingaroy Kitchen this week and see where the new packing shed will be built,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“This is terrific news for Endeavour who have established such a great business here in Kingaroy and who have been working towards achieving this expansion for many years. It will mean they will be able to take on more local work and be able to pack more local produce.”

In Callide Electorate, another four South Burnett groups will share more than $50,000.

The other local groups to receive funding include:

  • Blackbutt Show Society – $27,500 to construct a cattle pavilion
  • CROW-FM – $17,401.18 to purchase equipment
  • Gympie & South Burnett Division QCWA – $9800 to paint roof
  • Kingaroy Cricket and Sports Club – $29,660.55 to upgrade building
  • Murgon Bowls Club – $11,584.55 to upgrade facilities
  • Nanango Race Club – $17,318 for a ride-on mower
  • Queensland Bluelight Association (Murgon) – $14,389.35 to refurbish the Blue Light trailer
