This weekend’s Relay For Life in Kingaroy is already setting a record with the most teams ever registered … 46 so far!
Organisers are also hoping to set a record with the fundraising.
They have set a target of $140,000 this year – which would be a huge task – to help take the total fundraising for cancer research since the Relay began in the South Burnett to more than $1 million.
They are off to a great start with fundraising nudging $100,000 already when the results of the successful “Dinner With The Captains” event are added it.
The 2015 Relay For Life will get underway at the Kingaroy Showgrounds about 3:00pm on Saturday afternoon and will finish about 9:00am on Sunday.
The traditional Candlelight Ceremony will be held at 6:30pm on Saturday.
Relayers will have no excuse to starve: Kingaroy Rotary will be manning the canteen from 5:30pm to 7:00pm for hamburgers, St Joseph’s P & F will be looking after the hot chips, and there’ll also be pizzas available from Domino’s Pizza.
Mondee Coffee 2 Go will have their coffee van open all night.
There will also be live music throughout the night, laser skirmish and themed laps.
