The Kingaroy RSPCA officially opened its new foster area and renovations during its big Open Day at the weekend.

But the bigger holding capacity also means the not-for-profit group needs more volunteers.

They are planning to hold an induction morning on Thursday (September 3) at 10:00am for people interested in helping out at the Kingaroy shelter.

Volunteer roles available:

  • Maintenance / groundsperson: Someone who is handy with tools, doesn’t mind getting dirty, and enjoys keeping leaves off the paths
  • Gardeners: People who enjoy watering plants, weeding the gardens and planting new flowers/trees etc
  • Dog walkers: People who want to spend time walking dogs without the worry of having to clean up after them!
  • Laundry help: Someone to help with all the dirty washing
  • Cat chatterer: People who would love to come and sit with our cats
  • Office help: Someone who has office experience with phones and computers to help with customer inquiries and adoptions
  • Cattery attendants: People who want to clean and feed and get among the cats
  • Dog attendants: People who don’t mind poop scooping, feeding and hosing out the kennels

For more information, contact the Kingaroy RSPCA Shelter between 10:00am-5:00pm on (07) 4162-5501.
