Member for Gympie Tony Perrett, Mollie Kratzmann from Kumbia QCWA and South Burnett Deputy Mayor Keith Campbell enjoyed a chat at the Gympie/South Burnett Division’s Annual Meeting

Member for Gympie Tony Perrett paid a visit to Kingaroy last Wednesday.

Mr Perrett was in town as a guest of the Gympie/South Burnett Division of the QCWA, who were holding their Annual Meeting at the Uniting Church Hall.

A highlight of the Annual Meeting was the election of Divisional officer bearers for 2015-2016.

Mollie Kratzmann from the Kumbia branch was returned as President; Katrina Van den Brink (Miva branch) was returned as secretary; Lois Donald was returned as treasurer with an assistant; Elaine Ballin was returned as Zone 1 Vice president; and Mellisa Dunn was returned as Zone 2 Vice president.

Eleanor Kratzmann chaired the meeting and Tony Perrett acted as Returning Officer.

Another highlight of the gathering was an English Midlands International morning which featured competitions for cookery, knitting and crochet, floral art, art and international.

Divisional competition winners will go on to the State competition in October.

After judging and selection of the winners, the Kingaroy QCWA Twilight Branch along with the Kingaroy QCWA served a delicious roast beef lunch, followed by apple crumble and custard for dessert.

Over 70 people were in attendance and the Division would like to thank them for making the day a great success.

Lorraine O’Neill (Gympie branch) mounted a very large English Midlands display which included a botle of Lea & Perrin’s Worcestershire Sauce
Janelle Reeves (Kingaroy branch) won a prize in the Floral Art section by using beetroot in her little blue cup display
The cookery competition attracted a lot of entries and the judges had a very hard time picking winners
The one flower section was won with a yellow gerbra …
… and the jams and pickles section also drew many entries
Lois Thurecht (Elgin Vale branch) won a prize with this foliage arrangement …
… and Debbie Williams (Imbil branch) also took a prize with this striking arrangement
