South Burnett Speedway Club is planning improvements in the pits and track lighting

July 6, 2015

The South Burnett Speedway Club has announced that it has received “major funding” from a government grants program to do significant upgrades at its Kingaroy track over the next 12 months.

The South Burnett National Show Society has also received assistance.

A speedway club spokesman said a new state-of-the-art scrutineering and machinery shed will be built in the pit area.

The pits will also undergo an upgrade to the power and lighting and extra track lighting will be installed.

The Show society has also received a grant to build more toilet and shower facilities.

Construction of the new machinery shed is scheduled to get underway soon and it is hoped that some of the new toilet and shower blocks will be ready for the big Kings Royal weekend in January 2016.
