More than 300 visitors from all over Queensland are expected to converge on Murgon from Sunday (July 5) for a huge junior rugby league carnival.

Murgon Showground has been chosen as the host venue for this year’s 50th anniversary 43kg Carnival.

The last time the Carnival was run in Murgon was in 2007.

Players, their parents and officials will be attending from as far afield as NSW and north Queensland.

Murgon Mustangs’ club president Ricky Collard said a major highlight of the week would be the State Of Origin final night on Wednesday, July 8.

There will be big screen TVs erected at the showgrounds for the community to enjoy the game, pigs on the spit and a licensed bar.

Everyone is welcome to come along to enjoy a big night of football!
