July 3, 2015

The big day has arrived … Murgon artist Lee Porter and photographer Sherrianne Talon’s big launch of the Dual Arts project is happening on Saturday (July 4).

And there’s going to be an all-day street party in Murgon to celebrate.

The focus of the party is the pop-up gallery at 90 Lamb Street, next to the bakery in the heart of Murgon’s CBD.

It will include artworks by Lee and photographs by Sherrianne that depict some of the highlights of the South Burnett.

Dual Arts, which has been funded by an RADF grant, is an attempt to settle the 150-year-old debate about whether photography is really art.

The exhibition will be open from 10:00am until 2:00pm tomorrow, but after the official opening will remain on display from 10:00am to 4:00pm daily until the end of the month.

There’ll be a sausage sizzle, amusement rides for children.

All the images in the exhibition have been put into a glossy souvenir coffee table book which will also be unveiled at the opening.
